Even though the official release date is today, July 27, the Popeyes near me started selling the nuggets a few days early, so I was able to breeze through the drive-thru and obtain a 12-piece order without having to wait in line (yet).

A la carte pricing for a dozen Popeyes Nuggets was $5.79. The smallest quantity available is an 8-piece order, and the highest order that can be placed is for 48 pieces (however kids’ meals are also available with either a 4-piece or 6-piece option). When I went home and had a look at the box, I was surprised to find that it appeared to be on the smaller side, despite the fact that it was jam-packed with steaming hot chicken.
Delicate Craggy Pieces
It seems that the new Popeyes Nuggets are really tasty, especially considering their price point. They have that light and crispy breading that I really appreciate, complete with all of the delicate craggy pieces, and the chunks of chicken breast are reasonably juicy throughout the entire product; there is not a single dry nugget in the package. They turned out to have a flavor that was positively consistent with my expectations for how they would taste.
